    What are your favorite games?

    Where do you play them – on a phone, tablet, console, … ?

     If you don’t play video games, what do you do in your free time?

  1. Listen to Jan and Gavin talking about three different games. For each game, put

    the screens in the correct order.

  1. Gavin: How do you play this?

Jan: You’re the chicken, and fox is looking for you. He’s coming. Go in that house. When he finds you, you have to throw things at him. If you hit him, he moves slowly. Ok, he knows where you are. Get that shoe. Open the door. Now, throw the shoe at him. Good! A direct hit.

  1. Gavin: First you have to choose a character.

Jan: Ok, I’m the girl. Now what?

Gavin: You have to run through the city and win the race against the other.   

                    character. Ok, run. Now climb the building

Jan: What do I have to do now?

Gavin: Jump. Jump to the next building. Quickly! The other character’s coming but you’re winning. Go! Yes! You’re the winner.

Jan: No, it’s really old. Some aliens want to destroy your planet and you 

                     have to stop them.

Gavin: Can I play?

Jan: Ok. Use tis button to start the game. Now, these buttons to move left 

                     and right, and this button to shoot the aliens. Good, that’s it. If they 

                     shoot you, you lose. Shoot! Don’t stop You can never stop the aliens.

  1. Listen again and complete the information about the games.

Tony:          No, they don’t. It’s not chess. You don’t have to learn a lot of rules.

Tony:          He or she has to take all the other player’s pieces.

You don’t have to play golf with another person. You can play alone.

In volleyball, a player has to hit the ball before it touches the ground.

Bowling’s great because you don’t have to buy any equipment. They lend it to you when you play. Also, it doesn’t have to be competitive game. You can play just for fun.

In chess the player with the white pieces has to move first. In some competitions they play with a clock. If you’re playing with friends, you don’t have to that.
