        In what ways is an aerotropolis “green”?

An aerotropolis is a city that’s been planned in a logical way round an airport, with activities that use the airport most frequently located nearest to it. It’s green because it has green spaces and it’s environmentally friendly. It’s also green because it respects the environment. Activities that use the airport most frequently are located closest to it. This cuts down on the use of transportation, reducing pollution.

   Write the headings below in the  correct place in the text. Then check your answers.

On the screen you can see one possible design for an aerotropolis. Let’s look at some of its features. Starting in the foreground and moving counterclockwise, number 1.   1. E- commerce zone

Companies that store and ship goods for online, stores are located here, where storage space is provided in warehouse.

  1. Free-trade zone

This is where goods that are on their way to another destination can be changed, manufactured, or stored without passing through customs.

  1. Hotels and entertainment

This area provides overnight accommodation for travelers and leisure activities for travelers and residents.

  1. Residential and shopping

Located o the edge of the city is a n area for houses, retailers, schools, and other facilities for residents of the city.

  1. World trade

This area has a conference center for conventions, exhibition halls for trade fairs, and large office blocks for international trade organizations.

  1. Business park

This area is where office buildings for commercial companies are grouped together.

  1. Freight hub

With its connection to the highway and railroad network, freight transported by trains or trucks can be unloaded here and shipped around the world as air cargo.

  1. Industrial park

A location where factories and office space for a range of industries can be found.

Work with words
