Intensive Science and Technology 6 Department of Science and Technology
Primary 6 Time 40 Hours

Students are able to describe, categorize, compare, discuss, explain, formulate models,
use logical reasoning to solve problems, design and write programs, use the internet to collect,
evaluate and present the data. Students are able to identify the nutrients and tell the benefits of
each nutrient from the food eaten; tell ways of food selection for consumption in suitable
proportion beneficial to sex, age, and health safety; describe the functions of organs in the
digestive system.
Students are able to explain and compare the mixture separation by picking, sifting, using
magnets, decanting, filtering, and sedimentation by using the empirical evidence; and identify the
solution to solve the problems about the mixture separation in the daily life; explain the formation
and effects of electrical forces which are caused by the rubbing of objects; identify the
components and describe functions of each component of the electric circuit; write the simple
diagram of the electric circuit and connect it; explain the methods and effects of series-connected
and parallel-connected electric cells; realize the values of knowledge about connecting the light
bulbs in series and in parallel by telling the advantages and application in daily life; explain the
formation of umbra and penumbra; and write the diagram showing the rays of light in producing
the shadow and penumbra.
Students are able to construct the model to explain and compare the formation of solar
and lunar eclipse; explain the development of space technology and exemplify the application of
the space technology for useful purposes; compare the process in the formation of igneous,
sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks; explain the rock cycle from the model constructed; describe
and exemplify the useful application of rocks and minerals in daily life; speculate the condition of
the fossils in the past time; compare the formation of sea breeze and land breeze, and monsoons
and their effects on living things; explain the effects of monsoons on the formation of seasons in
Thailand; describe the characteristics and effects of flood, coastal erosion, landslide, earthquake
and tsunami; realize the impacts of natural disasters and geohazard by presenting ways in
protecting and behaving from the local natural disasters and geohazard; explaining the formation
of greenhouse effect and presenting ways in avoiding the activities that promote the production
of the greenhouse gases.
These can be done by performing scientific methods, exploring, observing, checking, data
collecting and data classifying. These are for the students to understand, present the outcomes,

make decisions, see the value of the knowledge applied in daily life and gain the scientific mind,
moral, ethic and appropriate value.
These can be done by use the process of logical reasoning to explain and design the
ways to solve problems in daily life; design and write simple program to solve problems in daily
life, as well as find and fix its errors; effectively use the internet to search and safely use the
information technology to work together.
These can be done by systematically follow the working processes; use logical reasoning
to explain; design the ways to repeatedly solve problems using rules and conditions; design the
program by writing the message or the flowchart; design and write the program that is verified to
cover all the conditions; check the processes step by step when there is an error and fix it to
achieve the determined result; practice finding the errors from other people’s program; use the
software to write the program in Scratch, logo.
These are for the students to realize and appreciate the usage of the internet in
communication and working; safely and mannerly use the information technology; understand the
rights and duties of oneself; respect the rights of others; notify related people when seeing
inappropriate information or people; work with enthusiasm and punctuality; have a positive attitude
in working; have appropriate working habits, morals, ethics and appropriate value.
